PETRONAS TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY DELEGATION VISITS ENGINEERING FACULTY OF UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA TO EXPLORE COOPERATION

The Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University received a visit from a delegation from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia, on Tuesday (12/12/2023). The delegation led by Prof. Dr. Hilmi Mukhtar, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic UTP, arrived at the FT UNY campus to explore the potential for cooperation between the two educational institutions. Participating in the delegation from UTP were Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dean, Faculty of Science, and Information Technology, and an Executive, Business Development & Academic Planning.

The UTP delegation was warmly received by the Vice Dean for Research, Cooperation, Information Systems, and Business of FT UNY as well as the Vice Dean for Planning, Finance, General Affairs, and Resources of FT UNY. In addition, the heads of departments in the faculty also attended this meeting. The main agenda of this visit was to explore various potential collaborations between Universiti Teknologi Petronas and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Hilmi Mukhtar, said, “We have the same ideas and we can cooperate in the fields of student mobility, staff visiting, joint research, and so on. Our goal here is to introduce Universiti Teknologi Petronas to the Vice Deans, administrators, and ladies and gentlemen. Especially in the field of engineering, because we focus on three fields: engineering, technology, and science.”

The Vice Dean for Research, Cooperation, Information System, and Business of FT UNY, Dr. Drs. Totok Heru Tri Maryadi, M.Pd., responded positively to the invitation of cooperation from UTP Malaysia. “We welcome the invitation from UTP Malaysia to collaborate in various ways, both in the academic field, publications, joint research, then teacher exchanges, be it visiting professors, outbound, inbound, and so on.”

Dr. Drs. Totok Heru Tri Maryadi, M.Pd., added, “We hope to have many discussions to achieve common goals, so that we can build a synergy between UTP and UNY. In time, we just need to implement it and we hope that today will be the beginning of our cooperation and what we are waiting for is the implementation.” he added.

This visit is an important momentum in strengthening the relationship between UTP and UNY and opening up collaboration opportunities that have the potential to produce significant innovations and contributions in the fields of education and research.
